Travel
abourd a 5-star luxury ship into the breathtaking African wildlife
world: this is what the "Zambezi Queen" has to offer. The Mantis
Collection hotel group recently launched its new 45-meter long boutique
ship on the Chobe river, giving guests the chance to fully appreciate
the beauty of Botswana's national parks. The program includes wildlife
watching, safari adventures, fishing trips, and tours of African cities and villages.
The Zambezi Queen runs along the course of the Chobe River, mere kilometers from the border. The Chobe is right nearby to the famous "four-country corner" where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet. The luxury ship consists of 14 suites, four of which are designated comfort suites. Room decoration and furniture are puristic in style and incorporate African elements. Only the best quality materials available were used. Master Suites offer private terraces, the others have a panorama view.
The design ship has a total of three decks: The first features an air-conditioned lounge and library. The remaining area of the first, as well as the complete second deck consists of the 14 suites. The third deck features an open-air lounge with a telescope, bar, a restaurant, and a pool. A solar-cell system provides the ship with power, and large tanks save waste water. The Chobe National Park is famous for its huge variety of wild animal species. An estimated 120 000 elephants and more than 400 species of birds live there. With a little luck, you can also expect to to see leopards, buffalo herds, antelope, hippopotami, and crocodiles.
The Mantis group was formed in 2000 and has its headquarters in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. They offer luxurious, award winning, privately owned five-star boutique hotels, wild life reserves and eco-lodges worldwide. Their portfolio consists of more than 40 properties, all of which are well known for their hospitality, unique nature experiences, and exceptional relaxation. The hotel group's philosophy is based on sustainability and responsible ecologically sound practices in the tourist sector. This is one of the reasons that Mantis has been the recipient of multiple "World Travel" awards, among them the "Leading Conservation Company", and "Leading Safari and Game Reserve".
